Community Engagement Coordinator

Feeding the Gulf Coast is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator, on-site, for our team. The ideal candidate is an organized and motivated people person. If hired, you will serve as a “face” for our organization and the thousands of people we serve each day. As a “professional friend maker,” you will help people get plugged into our hunger relief efforts, making a difference every day in the communities we serve.

Feeding the Gulf Coast is a leading hunger-relief organization serving the Central Gulf Coast. For 40 years, we have supported organizations and special programs focused on removing barriers to nutritious food access for over 431,000 people facing hunger along the central Gulf Coast. Feeding the Gulf Coast is one of 200 food banks in the Feeding America network, the nation’s largest hunger-fighting network. Based in our Florida facility, you get to make a difference every day in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Job Specifics:

Responsibilities
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a critical member of our Development & Marketing team. We raise awareness about hunger and its impacts on our Gulf Coast communities; help community members get involved in the fight against hunger through donations of their time, talents, and treasure; and gather at the table with other community “change makers” to work to make our communities the best places to live, work, and play.

Skills and Experience
We would prefer someone with a minimum of 2-4 years of community engagement, public relations, or marketing experience. A degree from a four-year university is preferred; however strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills matter most. Are you one to never meet a stranger? Do you have a passion for building stronger communities? Are you organized and a great project manager? LET'S TALK! We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude and high energy.
